I finished the team site for the youth baseball team last weekend (djwellerwebdesign.com/brewers). I spent a lot of time on that team last week. I went to the tryouts with my daughter on February 5 thinking that I was going to be an assistant coach. When I got there, I was handed a clipboard and told that I was one of the managers. Since then, with a ton of help from my wife, I have drafted a team, had a meeting with the players and their parents, had a couple of practices, and got a web site up for the parents and other fans of the team.
The web site is pretty basic. On the home page I have a live scoreboard for the team, a place where the schedule and results will be when we get the schedule, and a sidebar with some links. The Parent’s Portal has a list of who has signed up for the different coaching positions for each game.
I am happy with the clean look of this site. It will look even better once we get the schedule and that is up. I may put a team picture on the home page once we receive our uniforms as long as the parents are ok with it. Other than that, I will keep it up to date during the season.
